Goals, you need them.

If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there. If your goals aren’t clearly defined and within reason, you’ll often get frustrated and quit.

Here’s an exercise that I use, give it a try.

First, sit down and figure out a goal that you would like to achieve. This shouldn’t be a generic, “I want to lose some weight,” or ” I want to be rich.” This should be something that takes some time to think about.  Make sure they are specific, measurable, attainable, reasonable and timely.

I want to lose 20 pounds in 3 months. I want to promote to the rank of Sergeant by the end of 2014. I want to make $20,000 from my home based business.

Now take a card (Or white board like I use) and write down this goal. Every morning when you wake up, look at this goal. Look at this goal several times during the day, and also right before you go to sleep.

Always remember that “You are what you think about.” Keep a positive attitude, think about the reasons why it WILL happen. In all honesty, it actually happened the moment you wrote it down. You have as much a right to attain this goal as anyone else. It’s yours for the taking.

Now start to create action to attain this goal. Sometimes we know what it is we need to do to achieve these goals, sometimes we don’t. Just know if you want to achieve your goal, keep an open mind and you will figure that out.

Every time you start to think negatively, take out your goal card and look at it.

Take control of your mind and start taking action.

You’ve got this.
